The Wellesley Board of Selectmen made conditional offers of appointment as Wellesley Police Officers to Evan Rosenberg and Conor Ashe on Monday, February 23, 2009. Both Mr. Rosenberg and Mr. Ashe will be required to complete the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council's 6 month police academy Mr. Rosenberg is a life resident of Wellesley and is at the top of the civil service list. Mr. Rosenberg is currently employed by the Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy as security officer, where he is responsible for the safety of the students, the security of the interior and exterior of the school buildings, and responding to medical calls. Mr. Rosenberg has a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Endicott College and played football while attending college. He completed two internships with police departments and one internship with a sheriff’s department while in college. Mr. Rosenberg also graduated from Wellesley High School where he played both varsity baseball and football.
Mr. Ashe is a life resident of Millis. He is currently employed as a dispatcher for the Millis Police Department where he is responsible for dispatching police, fire and medical personnel to calls for service, assisting citizens both on the phone and in person and taking reports from citizens who walk in to the station. Conor is also a part-time officer for the Millis Police Department and completed the basic course for reserve/intermittent officers as set forth by the Municipal Police Training Committee in January of 2006. Mr. Ashe previously worked as a dispatcher for the Massachusetts State Police and as an assistant harbor master in Duxbury. Mr. Ashe has a B. A. in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. Mr. Ashe competed for the Saint Anselm College Alpine Race Team while in college and volunteered his time through the Meelia Center for Community Services to help children in need. Both Mr. Ashe and Mr. Rosenberg will be attending an upcoming police academy. Congratulations to both of you.
