Wellesley Police Youth Academy 2010

Type :Featured

For the sixth year in a row, the Wellesley Police Department and the Wellesley Youth Commission are holding a Youth Academy at the police station.  The Youth Academy is for middle school aged children, who spend the week with Wellesley Police officers and see different aspects of the Wellesley Police Department and law enforcement in general.  In addition, there are field trips to interesting locations and swimming.

Officer Brian Spencer and Youth Director Maura Renzella plan an exciting week and run the camp.  The kids are divided into two squads, which are led by Sergeant Jeff Renzella and Sergeant Scott Whittemore.  Officers Derrick and Janet Popovski, as well as Dispatcher Sarah Walsh also assist with the academy during the week.
